Where “intel-linux-graphics-installer_1.0.3_amd64.deb” is the name of the package you downloaded from Intel’s website. If you downloaded the 32-bit version or if Intel release a updated version, then the package name may be slightly different.
The installation process for Fedora is very similar. But to install the package use:
As with the Ubuntu install process, “intel-linux-graphics-installer-1.0.3-3.5.x86_64.rpm” is the name of the package you downloaded from Intel’s website. If you downloaded the 32-bit version, then the package name will be slightly different.
Once installed, find and run the intel installer for linux
using the launcher:
On the initial greeting page, click “Begin” to proceed with the installation. The installer will then check your system to make sure it meets the system requirements. The first check is to see if you actually have an Intel GPU in your PC!
Click “Install” to continue. The installer will now add the drivers to your system.

I'm having a bit of an issue related to graphics drivers. This is not my area of expertise, so please forgive me I don't use the correct terminology.
I have set of boxes, Dell Optiplex 7010's, that appear to have Intel Xeon E3-1200 for graphics (however, Windows/GpuZ reports it as Intel HD 4000). We have a software that we're running, that needs to make sure the graphics drivers are installed correctly. My understanding is that glxinfo should show that the OpenGL renderer is Intel, and not Mesa.
I've included relevant system information below, please let me know if any more is required.
The questions I have are:
1. Is the Intel driver actually being loaded (or is it another driver or driver built into the kernel)?
2. What should the 'OpenGL renderer' show as when the Intel driver is correctly loaded?
3. If the Intel driver is not being loaded, how can I force it to be loaded instead of what currently being used?
4. lmsod reports that i915 is being used. Will this show i915 or something else when the Intel driver is properly installed?
